At Intersect Buffalo, we believe the strength of IC Success comes not only from the entrepreneurs in the room, but from the community that surrounds them.

As we prepare to welcome a new cohort of entrepreneurs into IC Success, we’re inviting alumni and experienced leaders to step into a meaningful role as Impact Advisors. Your insight, lived experience, and perspective can help guide entrepreneurs as they build, refine, and grow their businesses.

This is an opportunity to give back, stay connected, and help shape the next generation of business leaders on Buffalo’s East Side.

What Is an Impact Advisor?

Impact Advisors play a critical role in supporting IC Success participants throughout the cohort. Advisors serve as trusted thought partners, offering strategic feedback, real-world insight, and encouragement rooted in experience.

This role is about presence, honesty, and care. Impact Advisors help entrepreneurs think through challenges, clarify next steps, and build confidence as they move forward.

Impact Advisor Commitment

Impact Advisors commit to supporting the IC Success program over the course of the cohort by showing up prepared, engaged, and invested in the growth of participating entrepreneurs. This includes:

  • Participating in assigned 1-on-1 sessions with entrepreneurs

  • Offering strategic, actionable feedback

  • Serving as a sounding board grounded in expertise and lived experience

  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

  • Upholding values of accountability, access, and community-centered impact

The overall time commitment is intentionally designed to be reasonable but meaningful, creating real value for entrepreneurs without overextension.

IC Success is built on the belief that access to knowledge, networks, and honest guidance can change the trajectory of a business. As an Impact Advisor, you help ensure entrepreneurs don’t have to navigate that journey alone.

Your participation strengthens the program, deepens the community, and reinforces a culture of collaboration and shared success.
